Situated in Hampshire County twenty minutes north of Springfield, Northampton spreads along the western bank of the Connecticut River. Academy of Music Theatre was constructed in 1892 as a municipal venue at the western end of downtown. Northampton’s dining scene spans historic village counters and downtown morning spots, anchored by long-standing local traditions. Miss Florence Diner is an authentically preserved 1941 Worcester Lunch Car Company diner situated in the Florence village center. The streamliner-style dining car serves classic American breakfast, lunch, and baked goods from behind a vintage chrome counter.

Woodstar Cafe is a family-owned artisan bakery located on Masonic Street near the downtown center. Glass cases feature house-made breads, fresh pastries, and made-to-order sandwiches prepared daily.
